Do’s and Don’ts of Using Facebook Messenger For Network Marketing

Do’s and Don’ts of Using Facebook Messenger For Network Marketing

It SUCKS!

I'm sure you agree...

We've all had them...

You accept a friend request and...

BOOM!

An instant pitch fest offering you a life-changing opportunity or something along those lines.

Yuk, right?

But here's the good news...

Facebook Messenger can be a powerful tool...

When used right!

Whether you're guilty of doing some of the things below (I know I am, cringe!)

But it's ok, you probably didn't know any better.

Inside this post I'll be sharing with you the big DO's and DON'TS when using Facebook Messenger to find prospects or sell you products for your Network Marketing business.

Hey, let's have some fun and count how many you've either done yourself, or had done to you and let me know in the comments below your total!

Pin for later

Send a message pitching your product or opportunity as soon as you become Facebook friends.

Send your links unless they agree to it

Be rude if they say they aren't interested. Keep good will and don't burn your bridges

Don't make it about YOU. No-one cares if you're close to a promotion

Have verbal diarrhoea and give too much information. Get them to book a call with you to take it offline

Don't offer your product if they're not the right fit

Don't leave it too long to reply to messages and be "too late" and miss an opportunity

Don't only message someone when you want something!

Copy & paste with the wrong name in the message (yep, totally done that a few times by mistake, oops!)

Write an essay, people will be intimidated and put off if they see one big mass of text!

Add a load of people into one massive group chat! (man those are annoying!)

I could probably add more and more, but these are the main ones of things that are super annoying, or can put people off you before you've even made a new friend.

But it's not all doom and gloom, as I said, Messenger can be a powerful tool when used RIGHT.

So now let's get into some tips and things you can do to use it well to gain more prospects and customers.

Introduce yourself, say Hi and start a conversation FIRST.

Ask questions so you can understand if they are looking for a solution you have

Make it about THEM - LISTEN! This will become your greatest skill, and this is how you don't come across as trying to just sell to someone. When you make it about them and ask lots of questions, you're then just making a helpful recommendation for a problem you picked up on in that conversation.

Find out if they're happy or not before you offer your opportunity.

Only send your link once they qualify themselves and say YES to wanting to take a look

Have other conversations than just business to build rapport & relationship

Offer your product or solution if it solves a genuine problem

Use voice notes, they're super personal and helps build rapport with your "friend" so they can hear your voice and saves a lot of typing!

Use Messenger for a modern day "3 way call". It's a great way to save time scheduling 3 people's diaries and using the authority of an upline or leader

You can also use the Voice or Video call features within Messenger for phone calls to be made. So you don't have to worry about expensive phone bills by utilising these features to connect more.

Remember to follow up!

I'm sure there's more things you've experienced which you loved or hated, I'd love to hear them, so feel free to share them in the comments below.

Whether you love Messenger or hate it, it's a great tool, IF used right!

Try out these tips and see if it makes a difference.

I used to make a lot of mistakes when it came to using Messenger so I'm glad I learned these things before getting blocked too many times!
